The morphology and biology of the Aphidoidea are outlined, and keys to families are presented. A check list of the Pterocommatinae and the Aphidinae of the tribe Aphidini recorded from the British Isles is given, together with keys to the genera and species. Notes on distribution and food-plants are given for each species, as well as observations on attendance by ants and damage caused to the host-plants. The genus Aphis is treated in some depth. There are alphabetical indexes of the food-plants of Aphis and other genera.
