Abstract: Although based on an international symposium held in Baton Rouge in 2001, the papers presented have been augmented and several chapters have been specially commissioned for this book. Twenty-four chapters are presented covering topics such as quantitative trait loci mapping, genomics, bioinformatics and marker-assisted selection, tissue culture and alien introgression for crop improvement, and advances in genotype environment interaction/stability analysis.
