Abstract: This book presents the proceedings of the 26th Poultry Science Symposium held in Peebles, Scotland, and is divided into five parts. Part 1 covers the current and future supply of feedstuffs, where political, agronomic and socioeconomic factors are discussed. The second and third parts, respectively, deal with the qualitative and quantitative aspects of the nutritional components of feedstuffs, while the fourth considers some of the more important factors, which are perceived to influence nutritive value like non-starch polysaccharides, secondary plant metabolites and processing among others. The fifth part is concerned with dietary enzymes like carbohydrases, lipases, a-galactosidase and phytase.
